Is VobBlanker development ended?

It's nearly 5 months since a new version of VobBlanker was posted.

And in that time I've seen very few comments of jsoto in the forum, and nearly no word on the development of VobBlanker.

Does anyone knows if he is still working on VobBlanker?

It would be a pity if this wonderful tool no longer be updated.

I hope it is just a hard earned vacation period for jsoto.

No, unfortunately that’s not true. But for one reason or other I’ve had very few free time to spend on this kind of things… May be in winter I’ll find more time, but not sure, I’ve some projects in my professional life just coming.…

About the TMAPTI bug (really a minimum one), sure I’ll fix it.

And the TMAPTI bug can be resolved by running the output thru PgcEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html)'s create time map function.

Sorry but I could not find it using search. In what situations does the TMAPTI bug occur? Just wanted to know when I should run the PGCEdit function.

When you are cutting with VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm). It builds the time map OK but actually doesn't reduce the number of bytes pointer at the start of the time map. Normally, this is of no consequence, but if you use DVD Rebuilder (http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/), it fills in the "missing bytes" at the front of the time map. So the first few entries are all the same.

PgcEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html)'s time map function fixes it no sweat, either after or before a DVD Rebuilder (http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/) run.

So, when using VOBblanker to split DVDs by blanking, this bug is of no consequence? (sorry to sound ignorant, I'm just a user!)

I don't believe it's an issue then, no. To check, compare the time map end byte pointer at VTS_TMAPTI (0x0004) for the original and split DVDs. It should be about half in the split DVDs (the only bug is actually in the pointer, not the actual entries).

But, in any event, it's easy to reconstruct the time map with PgcEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html) anyway, and might be an idea to do so.

You have to take care if you're going to process the DVD with DVD-RB. No other problems have been reported.

Jsoto, will you release a new version of VobBlanker, with this little bug fixed? Although it is easy to fix it with PgcEdit, it takes some time, and IMO it's a pity to leave an almost perfect program like VobBlanker with a bug. Thanks in advance!

Ok, THANKS for the speedy reply. I have not yet come to see the use for the DVD-RB tool, so I am not really affected by the bug. I still back up r0lZ in the quest for perfection... :)

Speaking of which, r0lZ, does your programm actually monitor changes to the DVD? Because I sometimes get a message that changes are not saved, though I haven't really changed anything, just opened and closed some menues. Reminds me of MS Word, which tends to do the same.

Well, whenever you click OK in an editor, PgcEdit assumes that the DVD has been modified. The current values are not compared with the originals. To avoid that, exit the dialogs with the Cancel or the "X" close button, or the escape key.

Also, PgcEdit try to fixes some discrepancies in the IFOs when the DVD is loaded. In this case, a dialog informs the user of the change. If something is modified during this phase, the DVD is marked as modified, as it needs to be saved.

jsoto, I know this is asking to much but, are you planning to support ILVU-multiangle discs in VobBlanker? :D

I love your program as it is, and it is a very handy tool for editing the content of my DVDs, but there are some titles that could be edited better if we could have support for multiangles.
