latest news:
The data restoration is almost entirely complete.
Now it’s just a matter of moving data over to Uffish and syncing up with accounts.

Idea: why not release a package of megui with just what is needed to run it, rather than having people depend on an internet update server?
I use megui for x264 encoding, but every time I press the Config button to set the x264 config, I get an annoying window telling me that the ContextHelp.xml file can't be found. Simply providing this file in the downloadable package, along with of course any others that are strictly necessary, would be a good idea.
Also, providing the avisynth scripts support (avisynthwrapper.dll) in the main package might save some folks lots of hassle trying to figure out why their scripts won't open.

I believe chronochross created just such a package, but discontinued supporting it since the automatic updater ensured that compatible versions of all the necessary files were installed...I would prefer the package though, rather than the update server

this should be a package of everything that is required: http://files.project357.com/uploads/index.php?dir=&file=megui-2192-essentials.rar. Unzip it over the top of an existing install of build 2192.
EDIT:
Here are the avisynth plugins required: http://files.project357.com/uploads/index.php?dir=&file=megui-avisynth-plugins.rar. Unzip into your avisynth\plugins directory. I forgot convolution3d in that package, you can get it here: http://files.project357.com/uploads/Convolution3DYV12.dll
Thanks a lot check!

I've used all the files that were posted. When I try to rip subtitles using MeGUI it complains that there is no vobsub.dll in my system 32 directory. Does anyone have this file?

16th October 2006, 12:46
ahh, forgot about that one too. You need vsfilter - the latest version is 2.37, from here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DirectVobSub.htm
Don't extract to your system32 directory (that's evil), stick it into your avisynth plugins directory.

I've uploaded all of check's files to the server, but I'm not sure they're in the correct directory structure. Sharktooth should be able to fix it from there.

uhm... well... the auto-update structure was completely different.
All "packages" were a separate zip file... so it seems i must re-upload everything.
There's a problem though... im switching ISP so it will take some time until i get a decent DSL connection and you know how slow is a 56k modem...
Uploading about 50 megs is a pain in the...

I installed vsfilter and it still says there is a missing vobsub.dll
The vsfilter package only installed VSfilter.dll

[edit]By the way, Sharktooth, while we're at it, do you think it would be possible to add AutoGK's ESS-based standalones and MTK/Sigma based standalones Xvid standalone compatibility options?

still does not, it doesnt give an error at least, but keeps saying that there are 0 files to be available for update and since x264 r578-1 is my version there, but sharktooth has 593cli already there must be something wrong i guess.

Yup, that option should be removed from megui, else each time you start megui it will tell you there are updates.
Remove or get an agreement with nero, life can be so easy.

That build of encraw is experimental. The avi writing code was completely rewritten so there is great potential for bugs, although I've received 0 error reports so far.
