No, it's very clear that the problem is a hardware failure, see the link above. They just haven't gotten around to restoring the backups yet, megui.org is the same. Hopefully the backups are good, it's been a while now.

Supposedly it'll be up tonight... but they said that 5 days ago, too.

Good luck with learning how to use Avisynth. The Analog Capture
Guide at Doom9 has a section towards then end about Avisynth (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/capture/postprocessing_avisynth.html).
It should help you in addition to the manual. Ok, nibs

ps, since this seems to be the thread, hosted sites are all back online (read-only). This includes warpenterprises, stickboy's, and avsp's. The main site isn't because the database isn't back yet.

I found a backup of the database from April. Assuming it works, don't make any edits -- they'll be lost when the "real" backup is restored. If possible I'll lock down the sites.

The phone support said there was some known issue with their nameservers. In the online tool, all of my A records had been deleted. I went ahead and recreated them.

Avisynth.org has been dead (for me) for weeks.

All I get is a page with this message:

You can download old snapshot of the AviSynth.org (2005-04-08) from http://www.avisynth.org/warpenterprises/avisynth_org_20050408.rar

unpack to a directory using pathnames
(it contains FilterSDK too)

Is the owner subject to some pressure (legal or otherwise), or interest diminished maybe, do you reckon ?

Report doom9.org problems in the forum support board, with IP number handy (because www.doom9.org has MANY mirrors, whichever one you're being served up might be down). You can get it by using nslookup.

I read over the Nov 3 Leafyhost status page and it sounds like they're not going to send the hard disk out for recovery, at least not yet.

How will that affect your plans for bringing back the avisynth.org web site?

It blows my mind that a webhosting facility didn't implement backups *and* won't be taking responsibility for loss of data. Surely you're going to move to a different facility, right?

The Nov 3 update mentioned this:

"Over today anyone who has data available for restoration should see it restored."

It sounds like your data, if it was recovered, should already be online. So if you haven't seen it yet, it might be a while before they get it back, if ever. :(
