RGB Bitmap overlays /color conversion & quality?

My avi was captured in VDubMod with Huffyuv to YUY2.

I need to "hand-retouch" about 100 damaged frames, and overlay the corrected frames on the main capture.
(It seems like using Overlay is the best way I can count on not getting error messages for Mis-matched Frame-rates and Audio-formats)

So in VDubMod, I save the frames to RGB bitmap Image Sequence
(PaintShopPro won't recognise them unless I use RGB)

In terms of color conversions / quality, would it be preferable to Save the image sequence back to avi using RGB, or using YUY2?

Or is the effect so minimal it doesn't really matter?

If you have thousands of frames that you aren't touching, I'd recommend keeping it in YUY2. That way, most of your video will be left untouched and not suffer any loss.
