It sounds a lot like Real's Harmony (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FairPlay#Harmony). I wish Jon success, but if Real couldn't get it to work with their own music service, it seems like a hard sell for a 3rd party to bring other music services on board.

Edit: I'm talking about the business model. Technically Harmony did work, off and on.
