View Full Version : Audio Streams selection and sizing

Apparently I can still change the Audio Streams and Subtitles selection after the Prepare or after the Encode Phase.

Don't I inevitably run into undersizing/oversizing problems when I change the selections AFTER the Prepare or after the Encode phase, respectively, because the bit rate allocation has alredy been done at that stage.
If so, shouldn't the stream selections perhaps be greyed out or disabled when I risk to end up with sizing problems?

Sorry if this had been discussed before, but I didn't find it.

Yes you can run into problems if you change them after prepare without thinking about it.

I left it that way to give the user that flexibility. For example, if you ran a job and it undersized because of encoder saturation (which can happen fairly easily on Movie Only encodes), you can choose to keep audio tracks in order to fill the void.

Anytime someone decides to work in 3-Click mode -- they take a lot of responsibilities onto themselves. You could also use the Viewer/Editor to oversize, or use a third party software to modify the ECL/INF files.

OK.
Thanks for clarification!

Edit:
Could the change in size (due to enabling/desabling of audio/subtitle streams AFTER the prepare phase) be automatically mapped to the beta Segment Viewer/Editor in a future release?
