Problem with MeGUI test file

I created a small test file using MeGUI in MKV format. I put Trim(0,3000) for the sample size. I used a bitrate of 2,500 which estimates the file size to 35MB. Everything completes successfully however the file size is actually 500MB!! Also I find that I can't delete the file. I shut down and rebooted and still could not delete the file. I tried another test on a diff drive and got the exact result. I'm at a loss to explain thils. I now have two sample files which I cannot delete.

How long is the file when you attempt to play it?

It's about 2min. It's very odd because I just encoded a full movie on Friday and it came out perfectly. I just tried encoding another bit at a target size of35MB and got 500MB again.

I copied the file to another drive and oddly enough could not delete it either. I had to reboot to safe mode in command prompt and delete it from there.

the not deleting sounds random, especially if you can still copy it. permissions error perhaps? Anyway, how are you encoding to "target size"?

And when you reinstall it, don't enable the shell extension. You might only need to reinstall, I don't know if it'll still disable it when you uncheck it.

Alternately you can keep it, and just kill explorer or reboot into safe mode every time you need to delete an unreadable mkv.

I'm a little confused why I need to reinstall Haali? I just encoded a full movie and had no problems copying or deleting it. But as soon as I do a small test using the Trim(0,5000) I get the problem indicated above?
