I've bought a Lafayette DVD (Model No LFDV971) which supports DivX v3,4 and 5, XVid/MPEG4 and all the usual formats.

I've downloaded some wmvs (legal before anyone asks) that I'm trying to convert to DivX or XVid to view on the player, but all I'm getting is audio and no video.

I've tried other, perhaps slightly less than legit discs that a friend lent me that has some files on and all bar one of those play OK. Looking at the file properties in G-Spot doesn't show a lot of difference in encoding and file formats. The manual with the player is no use and nor is the manufacturer's website.

Anyone any ideas of the DivX settings I need to to be able to encode the files to be watched on the player?

Whack your WMV through ConvertXtoDVD as it now accepts WMV.

I love this program.

It's so freaking simple and stupid fast - 2.5 hours of XviD on DVD in like 70 minutes it spits out a DVD+R and I can watch it.

The quality isn't great, but they're just lame sitcoms most of the time so who cares :D
