Lost my MPEG-2 demux filter; how to get it back?

I unregistered my MPEG-2 demuxer filter by mistake, and now my media player won't playback MPEG-2 files anymore. Is there a way I can re-register the filter? I haven't deleted anything, just unregistered it.

I didn't install any particular demuxer filter, so I'm guessing it was a standard Windows XP one. Or does PowerDVD install one as well?

Which will probably be in the powerdvd folder somewhere. Look for something named splitter or demuxer, with a .ax or .dll extension. XP doen't come with one, but all the OEM DVD players do.

If all else fails, just register every .ax in the folder.

I believe the name of the PowerDVD MPEG-2 filter/codec is "clvsd.ax"...

Yes I tried "mpg2split.ax" first and that did the trick. Well, sorta: after re-registering I could play MPEG-2 files, but the image was black with no sound (so I guess it's broken? I'm trying to play high def 1080i files). I ended up setting the merit for the Cyberlink splitter very high, so now that is being used (in BSplayer) en everything works correctly.
