x264 to burn to DVD ?

I looking to convert a couple of x264 movies to DVD to watch on a standalone player. Do I need to do some major converting? Or can it just not be done at all?

How much cost one DVD in your country? Also you can buy one rewritable for testing.
I don't think your standalone player (which name?) can play H264.

You can do it with a simple DirectShowSource AVS and CCE, TMPEGEnc, whatever, if the soft you're using doesn't support MP4\MKV.
