I am running media center 2005 with a ati x1900gt and a dual core athlon 64 x2 4600+
I was wondering which mce compliant decoder to use for hdtv usage. mpeg2, mpeg4-avc, ts files and so on. And ofc use the gpu aswell.
Purevideo works ok with ts files and everything it seems. But really dont trust nvidia to make optimized programs for ati gpus :p

Seems to work ok. Can also do files. But not sure if it even does MPEG4 AVC files and in that case with GPU asistance. They claim its media center compatible. Even though microsofts decoder check program says its not. I sat it as prefered just to test. Seems to work on ts files.
And i do know cyberlink has a HD264 pack for media center aswell. But havent tested that one. No try me version available. Really dont wanna pay without testing it first.
So which one should be the best for my setup?
1. Must be media center compatible.
2. Must love the x1900 gpu ^^
3. Works on most kinds of hd formats including ts files.
Quality and resource usage is also very important ofc.
Never tested coreavc. But I cant see that they are media center compatible either. Besides the coreavc is just a decoder that does mpeg 4 avc right? Not mpeg and ts files?
