Hi Guys,

I have just got an LCD HDReady tv , to which i have connected my pc upto , so my tv display is now my monitor connected via the bga cable.Is it possible for me to record my sky tv onto my pc? I have a radeon 9800XT. If so , do i need to get anything else and could someone give me some pointers on how to get it setup.

You can, but it's not ideal. There's no way to get a digital signal from a Sky box so you have to use analogue.

You will have to have a Video input card. You may already have one if you have the VIVO or All-in-wonder version of that ATi card. If not, you can buy them seperately, or they usually come included with TV tuner cards. Then you can plug the sky box into your PC using S-Video (if your Sky box has it) and the sound using phono cables into your sound card. Then use some software, usually the software that comes with your video input card to record it.

You will have to play around to get the best results, as I said, it's not ideal.
