title says it all, can autogk be forced to use # Lanczos (Sharp) when resizing, i have seen using ctl+f9 there is a force sharpe mpeg option - is that the same thing ?

No, the option you are talking about forces the use of the MPEG-quantization matrix (nothing to do with the picture resizing). AutoGK uses lanczos anyway in most occasions, it only switches back to bilinear/bicubic if the source isn't compressible. (ie: if the compressibility value is low).

Hi,
As pointed out try to distinguish cqm(matrix) and resizer.
To better understand the AGK internals you can take a look at this post: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=797163#post797163
All this in full auto with more than 700mb target size. If you force sharpmatrix with Ctrl/F9 you will be restricted to:
- If using sharpmatrix, will a 608 wide (for 16/9) be possible with a 60% minimum compressibility?
if yes use EQMV2 with sharp resizing (lanczos)
- if not use EQMV2 with soft resizing (bicubic?) and decrease resolution until 55 to 60% compressibility is reached
