Hi I have sony ericsson w810 and it shoyld play mp4 and 3gp files. I convert a video file that i have using xvid or x264 and virtualdub and then using yamb+mp4box i convert the avi to a 3gp or a mp4 file. and then i tranfer the file to the phone but it can't be played.
am i missing something? should i have certain options enabled on the encoders? are there some limitations?(like fps or bitrate?).

Note: the file doesn't include the sound just the video.

thanks in advance.

I used ImToo 3gp Video converter and reduced the video size to 176 pixels (length) and calculated the breadth according to the ratio. The clips played fine on most SE handsets. They had audio too (default).

I'd like some freeware and/or open source solution not shareware. anyways, i expiremented with the xvid profiles: when i select simple @ L0 and tranfer the 3gp file to the phone the file is recognized as a "video file" by the phone but it fails when it tries to play it. thats a progress because the other 3gp files i tranfered before weren't even recognized as "video files". but now something else is missing. i wish i find what it is. can u help?

NOTE: at this stage i am expirementing only with the video. the audio will come later!!!

to the mods: if you think there is a more suitable category for this thread plz thranfer it there. thanks.
