Phillips DVP642 (Dvix Player) very slow fast-forward

Anyone else a user of Phillips DVP642 Dvix Player?

Is it just me, or do all your players max fast forward at 8x. This is utterly ridiculous, considering there are no chapters in Dvix files and if you have a long movie it takes like 10 minutes to find yourself 1 hour into it.

Is there a firmware hack/upgrade that allows for fast fast forwarding?
