Need to reauthor a DVD done elsewhere, possible to extract media using MAC SOFTWARE?

Hi! This is my first post. I love Doom9!
Today I was hired to reauthor a yoga DVD. The client wants very little changed. Really just the addition of chapters so that chapter forwarding is enabled. The problem is that I do not have the original media for the tracks or menus. No PSDs, MPEG2s, AC3s, etc.
How can I get the media out of the VideoTS folder?
After doing lots of research, it seems there are several options for windows/PC users, but what about Mac and DVD Studio Pro authors?
Any ideas?

Rip the disk using DVD Decrypter. As for the rest, read a few posts in the DVD Authoring sub-forum.

All the great software seems to be for the PC folks.
With the only option I found available for Mac, MactheRipper, I got a VideoTS folder.
Ideally, I want to remux the VOBUS back to mpeg2 and start over. Any ideas?
Is this the only way to go about reauthoring just to create chapter markers?

PS- Obviously, I'm a newbie... but I'm teachable!

As I said, if you (just for this project), use a PC, Chapter Edit will work without any need for demuxing, conversions, remuxing.

So will DVD Remake Pro (http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/index.php).

The problem is that I do not have the original media...I'm surprised no one's asked you yet - Why don't you have access to the original DVD? Doesn't your client own the original?

I'm sure tesssweet meant that he/she does not have the original material from which the DVD was produced, but he/she does have the DVD supplied by the client.

tesssweet, I can only guess this DVD, if it isn't a mass-produced unit, won't have CSS encryption. You may be able to simply copy the files to your hard drive.

The reason I don't have access to the original material is very frustrating. There was a falling out with the previous author, and as a result, the client does not wish to contact him for any reason.
As I said, I can extract the video TS folder, but I have no experience with handling these muxed files/VOBs. DVD Studio Pro certainly cannot! I am realizing that it may be time to buy a PC for all the awesome hack software.

try "mpeg stream clip" that might be able to demux... not sure. the mac folks at work use it for screen grabs to go on slicks etc.

if you're on OSX, try ffmpegx. it's commandline, but it's certainly able to demux.

...but yeah, the mac is not a useful beast :)

btw, i sympathize with your situation... clients can be a problem and often techies don't know the best way to talk to them :)

also, a lot of people have bought the DVD industry's hype about DVD being such perfect quality... on one hand they could shell out and get you a digibeta, on the other hand, i hear DVD is just as good ;)... to be honest, it's usually better than beta SP unless you've got TBCs and stuff. and i'd rate it higher than NTSC DV (PAL DV is another matter. chroma is sampled sensibly in PAL).
