I have been using Auto GK for a short while now and when I first installed the program, I started ripping TV programs and would make a 233, 350, and 700 MG version of each episode on the disk. I never realized anything was wrong until I tried ripping a movie of which I decided upon on 700 MG and a 2 CD 1400 MG version of the movie. I am aware that in the 700 MG and below Auto GK uses an MP3 audio. Whereas for larger sizes, AutoGK uses the origianl AC3. The problem is that while the 700 version audio plays fine, the 2 CD 1400 version is vertually inaudible. but not totally. A while back, I used AutoGK for making 2 CD 1400 versions without a problem. It has only recently become a problem. Has something changed in the newer AutoGK versions, with Windows XP or something? Dose anyone know what would cause this problem and how to fix it? Thanks

This sentence, usual for newcomers, may not be fully adequate to a member registered in 2003 but I have no better to offer :)
You are right concerning AGK defauts.

From the FAQ (audio 2.3) you may have noted that audio encodings above 1cd are sources related:
- ac3/DTS -> original
- LPCM -> MP3/192
here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72679

Using the advanced settings, you can choose what audio encoding beside auto or original you can use:
- MP3 CBR up to 320
- MP3 ABR up to 320 (I usually limit to 256)

The audio low volume is usually related to new movies with very wide dynamic range and low output. If you want to retain ac3 AND have high volume, you will have to re-code/transcode outside AGK (see audio section and progs like Be-happy); else see my above suggestions.

If your encodes are using the original AC3, then it's not a problem with AutoGK. You can adjust the audio properties in the AC3 Filter playback settings to your liking. There is no change made to the AC3 audio, other than splitting it for the two files.
