x264 settings to max quality

Hello.. How configuring a x264 codec to compress any file in avs to very high quality in constant bitrate? Who options i must on ???

Get MeGUI and use HQ Insane profile.

x264 can't do constant bitrate, though it can come close with a lot of tweaking. But it's silly anyway! You should set the vbv to the maximum your player can handle and use 2-pass or crf (quality based).

vbv, bitrate variances, quantizer compression, temp. blur of est. Frame complexity, and Temp blur of Quant after CC.

Mouse over the options in MeGUI, and search on their names (or their command-line equivalents) for more details. Akupenguin's explained them all a few times. For best quality, you'd leave them all at default and totally ignore them; only set them to deal with playback limitations.

Max compression doesnt mean max quality...
This is a common error MOST users do.
The more the codec tries to compress the more the chances some visible details get removed (at least on lossy modes).
The MAX quality is the LOSSLESS profile. You cant get a better quality than that.
