Hi guys,

i am looking for a tool / program that can detect whether the video is pal / ntsc and the region code...

Even if the region code is 0 it is very interesting to know whether it's pal or ntsc....

The tool i am looking for should be able to do that for 'inserted dvd's', 'video_ts folders on hd' and maybe even 'iso file dvd's'....

Any suggestions ?

Been looking all around but haven't found anything....

Thanx in advance !

Hi!

Just look on the labels and/or packaging of your original DVDs...

Hi!

Hello!

...and if your kids or your dog ate the packaging... just kidding! :)

Sometimes the packaging of the DVD or the labels of the DVD-discs doesn't tell if it's PAL or NTSC or what region.
Recently I bought, (from Amazon), a 4-disc collection "The Man Who Planted Trees" from the great animator Frédéric Bach
and there are no info about format or region on the packaging or on the discs. So I tried AnyDVD and PowerDVD
and they both showed format and region. As for ISO's I dont know?

@varekai

When you went to the Amazon website to select "The Man Who Planted Trees", you would have seen the following information, which clearly states that it's Region 1 and in NTSC format:Product Details

Actors: Man Who Planted Trees
Format: Animated, Closed-captioned, Collector's Edition, Color, Digital Sound, Director's Cut, Full Screen, Import, Original recording remastered, Restored, Special Edition, NTSC
Language: English, French
Region: Region 1 (U.S. and Canada only. Read more about DVD formats.)

Number of discs: 4

Yeah that's correct, but *Iron Mike* asked for a way to find info of format and region
from 'inserted dvd's', 'video_ts folders on hd' and maybe even 'iso file dvd's' and
not from the internet or from Amazon.
Here are some images from the original 4 disc package and 4 discs bought from Amazon...
Appologies for the poor quality. I have an old and tired scanner...
