hi, i am having this really annoying problem with my display receantly, but unfortunately i dont remember for how long exactly, so i cannot guess from where could it come, i tried everything that sounds reasonable to couse it, but no luck... My display flickers (becoumes black for 1-2 seconds) occasionally when certain actions are made while working with windows, doing all kind of stuff, like deleting files, running properities on some file with Alt+Enter, running properities of the display, and during startup after the welcome screen. i cant tell exactly when does it flicker most, couse there is no pattern, it flickers when it likes... anyone any idea why could it be. My PC is AMD 3000+ 1GBram, GeForce6150 with latest display drivers 91.47forceware. 10x in advance

Does this just happen mainly for files that are .avi,.mpg,.wmv
If you right-click on one of these types do you get the flicker?
I had a similar problem
All of the above filetypes would either cause a monitor to flicker or cause windows to turn off my second monitor
The cause was the 'Play On My TV' entry added by the nvidia drivers
I got around it by going into regedit and deleting all the shell extensions that had 'PlayOnMyTV' in them (only the obviously video ones though like avifile etc)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AVIFile\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mpegfile\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMVFile\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
These were there main three I deleted it from
Hopefully that may be of use
[edit] don't delete any of the CLSID's though, some are misnamed and you'll lose the control panel for the drivers

exactly... right clicking on video files of any type couses the monitor to flick, unfortunatly, i am not so familiar with the registery, i am not sure about touching there...:(, is there a way to disable this second output by unchecking some box, some option...? P.S. Isn't there a way just to disable the "Play on my TV" feature???

It's thanks to this nasty little bugger: c:\windows\system32\nvshell.dll, the NVIDIA Desktop Explorer. You can disable it through Autoruns (http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Autoruns.html). You might also have to disable one or both of the NVIDIA Display Property Extensions from within ShellExView (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html).
Edit: you can also disable Play on My TV from Autoruns.

10x all, i guess the problem is clear now... but what is this autoruns - is it an application i should buy...? what about this - shellexview. what will happen if i just delete the nvshell.dll
@dloneranger I deleted what you wrote and everything is fine now when i right click on video files, but the flicking still remains at start up, and when going into advanced video settings
right-click (RC) on desktop -> properities -> settings tab -> advanced!!! (when i click here i get the flicker and then the advanced settings screen is displayed, (the one with adapter, monitor, general, troubleshoot, color managment, geforce xxxx)

I had this same problem and searched everywhere for the fix. It seems the fix is the one mentioned by 'dloneranger' and it is because of nVidia's "PlayOnMyTV" feature.
I created some reg files to make this fix easier. I put them up over here: DontPlayOnMyTV (http://www.geocities.com/fatboyberzerk/nvidia/index.html).
Hopefully this helps someone else!
