dvd ripit4me question

hi all, quick and maybe a dumb question, but i live in canada and when i back up my dvd with ripit4me i sometimes get the french menues. I usually back up just the movie with the menus, but sometimes they are in french and i would like them in english

is there anything i can do???

Are you sure your player is configured properly? You should be able to specify your preferred menu language in the player's preferences.

If you have a cheap player without that option, you should verify if your DVD is authored with several Language Units (LUs). By default, the first LU is used. Do the following:
Open the DVD in PgcEdit and look in the left pane at the menu PGCs. You should see labels like this:VTSM 1, LU 1 (fr), 1 ...
VTSM 1, LU 2 (en), 1 ...
In this example, the first LU is in french and the second one in english. To force the english menu by default, you should either swap the LUs so that the english LU is the first one, or delete all LUs except english. The functions to do that are in the "Menu" menu. Repeat the procedure in all titlesets with several LUs, and in the VMGM if necessary.
(Note that if you have removed the LUs, you can use FixVTS or VobBlanker to regain some disc space. Just process the menu domains.)

If there is only one LU, forcing the english menu is a bit more complicated.
