480i or 480p in H.264?

I have a question how do u specify that u want interlaced or progressive H.264 files? or interlace thing has got nothing to do with codecs ?

Yes, the codec has to support interlaced encoding. So you would need to check the documentation of your specific H264 encoder if it can and if so, how to enable interlaced encoding..

ur saying by default it will be progessive and if i want interlace i have to enable it.
btw i'm using Handbrake which uses x264.

x264 doesnt support interlaced encoding yet. Thats why you need to de-interlace your source before encoding with x264. A program like megui does this for you (if you click the analyse button).
