i have 2 copies of the same movie. one is ntsc one is pal. one has english dubbed language, one has original french. i want to be able to have a single movie file, with both languages available. another possible problem is that the english/ntsc audio is ac3, and the french audio is cbr mp3. i assume i can use besweet or something similar to convert the french to the correct length, but i haven't found where to demux the pal/french movie to do this, and also much i have both audio files in either mp3 or ac3 or can the two audio files coexsist in a single xvid/avi containter?

I am pretty sure you can have mp3 and ac3 at the same time in an avi but two mp3s will be more compatible.
Open your avi with the mp3 in virtualdubmod and click streams – stream list. Here you will find a button labeled demux. (I am sure veedub can demux mp3, that’s why I suggested the mp3 avi but the ac3 will proberbly work too) then open the other avi in veedub and click streams – stream list, and click the button labeled add and add the mp3 you just demuxed. Here you can also move the two audio tracks up and down to choose which track you want to be track one.
Then save the file using direct stream copy.
You will probably need a plugin for your media player to play the multi audio avi like morgan stream switcher.

Or just use something less crappy than avi, save it to mkv. Then you can have two streams of any type playable with any splitter.

.MKV is the king :D
But an .AVI file can have two audio streams(not more) without any hack. So any .AVI splitter will do the job.
It's VBR audio wich needs a hack for .AVI
