Hey folks,
So I've got some pristine 1080i60 uncompressed footage. It is in 10 bit 4:2:2, captured over an SDI connection. It is actually pulled down from 1080p24, in order to support SDI. Obviously, I want to recover the progressive frames. This is usually quite easy, just a 3:2 removal.
Unfortunatly, I just found out a lot of the video I captured has dropped frames. I'm capturing into DVCProHD now which has a much more manageable bitrate, but I wonder if any of these clips can be saved? Their frame rates vary, as low as 18 fps to as high as just under the correct 29.97.
Standard 3:2 pulldown removal leaves all sorts of dreadful interlace lines, as the pulldown pattern understandably changes due to dropped frames. Is there any way to recover footage, even if blurred (interpolated) frames are the final result?
I have HDV backups from a FireStore and also HDV on DV tapes, but these are YV12, and have lower resolution 1440x1080.
Ideas anyone? The files are quicktime files, and can be read with avisynth through directshowsource. Unfortunately, this converts them to RGB24, but I can live with that. The standard pulldown pattern of 3 progressive frames and 2 interlaced frames is there, but it gets disrupted as frames are dropped...
