Normally I use Megui with x264. I set up another machine for encoding video. For some reason .net framework isn't working there. I've tried Un-installing, reinstalling, repairing, doesn't help.
Anyway, I hate this bloatware stuff, install attempt takes 45minutes.
As a result megui isn't working, since it relies on .net.

A) What are another good encoders to encode x264 video in mkv or .mp4 container? - and that does NOT rely on .net?
I've tried virtualdubmod with vfw x264. It encodes fine (in .avi files) but MKvmergegui complains that it can't mux x264 video in .avi container.

B) What are disadvantages of vfw x264 over .exe version (as in megui)?

C) Suppose I use same settings in vfw as in megui of the same version of x264, can I expect the same result?

D) Does vfw is updated together with .exe version?

E)will vfw version cease to exist soon becaue it is not popular as it was in the past.

Some parts of RealAnime requires .NET, external CLI apps that is, like BePipe.exe (in upcoming RealAnime 5.0.0 a3).

I suggest you have a nice clean format.

But RealAnime 4 does not require .NET. RealAnime does not give the same control as MeGUI but it very easy and nice nevertheless :D
