SangNom seems to do a good job:
Is there any other recommendation?

Depends on what you mean by "clear up the drawing lines", but aWarpSharp(depth=16,cm=1) (right after the final resize) followed by LimitedSharpenFaster() produces some really nice sharpening.

Thanks!
Preliminary results look good.
Took me a while to figure out the limitedsharpen script.

I got good results but I am using a LSF script from Oct 2005:
In which subfolder of masktools 2.0a30 would I find the latest LSF script?

@hms,
Please use a descriptive title! You already have 81 posts, so you should know that.

No, http://www.avisynth.org/mediawiki/wiki/LimitedSharpen.
The script changes are msotly cosmetic, but the page is much more useful than the old wiki's page.

Thanks to all!
The results are fantastic.
It has been some time that I was using Avisynth and I had no idea what new filters were available: Next time I shall use a more descriptive title- sorry.
Setting up LimitedSharpenerFaster for Avisynth required a quick and steep learning curve.

Would you care then to redirect there from the old page and/or fix the links from other avisynth.org pages? I find no hint on the site that the new page exists... Even the search function returns only the page I mentioned. Thanks...
