MeGUI XviD Profiles - which to choose for what purpose?

Hi,

during my switch from AutoGk to MeGUI in XviD encoding I came across these profiles.

XviD '_rt_30% comp. check' (fast).xml
XviD '_rt_30% comp. check' (HQ).xml
XviD '_rt_45% comp. check' (fast).xml
XviD '_rt_45% comp. check' (HQ).xml
XviD '_rt_58% comp. check' (fast).xml
XviD '_rt_58% comp. check' (HQ).xml
XviD '_rt_90% comp. check'(fast).xml
XviD '_rt_90% comp. check'(HQ).xml

are there any hints what profile fits best to what purpose?
what does "comp. check" mean?

I did some testing and was quite satisfied with 58% HQ for 1/3 DVD size except the 8 fps coding speed in the 2nd path - that is even slower than the XBMC profile for AVC on my Athlon 64 3000+ system :)
