Check to make sure you have the required codecs.

Care to tell us what you were trying to do? And what audio stream does your file have? MP3? AC3? What does GSpot tell you?
Whatever the format is, Check to make sure you have the required codec sounds pretty self-explanatory to me. Doesn't it to you? I would install the needed codec for the audio stream and retry whatever it is that you were doing.

I just installed K-Lite 2.76 codec pack and VD tells the same,I can compress audio in VD but it says cant decompress to play,I'm triying to synch an audio with vid in .avi but I get no sound.
I guess it arised when I inatalled this crap called GX Transcoder I was just curious about, then all codec in VD dissapeared from the menu,so I uninstalled GX and intalled the codecs I mostly use, but VD doesnt monitor audio anymore.
Which codec VD uses to decompress audio is what I'd like to know.

It uses the codec required to decode the audio, which is why unskinnyboy asked about the GSpot info.
Do yourself a favor: uninstall any codecs and codec packs, then install only the Gordian Knot codec pack from the www.doom9.org downloads page.
