DivX Player now supports mp3 Surround audio for 5.1 channel surround sound. mp3 Surround is backwards compatible with MP3, and thus with existing community tools and DivX Certified devices. Further information is available in the DivX Labs article.

Guess it's only Thompson's MP3 Surround format, not Aud-X? Any chance of having support for Aud-X ?

DivX Player with mp3 Surround is now available in our regular downloads, including a fix for audio sync.

from what i read till now you use a proprieatary solution from thomson or frauenhofer or someone else

i know the surround technology from fhg/thomson was the basis for the official mp3 surround specs, but the specs where different than what fhg/thomson originally proposed
