Hello everyone at Doom9!

I recently bought my first DVD-Audio disc on ebay and was fooled by the "Item Location: United States" tactic that some overseas businesses use to attract sales.

Made and shipped from Russia, I now have a region free disc with PAL menus that my girlfriend's crappy VHS/DVD combo player can't play simply because it only works with NTSC.

It plays fine on my parent's cheapo $30CDN player, but they don't have a sound system and I don't feel like buying another DVD player.

Can someone point me in the right direction to converting this to NTSC please? Just by looking at the file structure, I'm assuming all files in the AUDIO_TS folder should remain intact and all I would be touching are the files in the VIDEO_TS folder, correct??

It's much more complicated than that. Instead you should seek reimbursement and report the company to eBay. More than likely the material is pirated if it's region free, which technically means a forum rule 6 violation.

It looks quite legit to me. It's from Nuclear Blast and I'm not even sure there even is an NTSC version.
Here's the album: http://www.nuclearblast.de/band_showa.php?action=disco&artist=15&catid=NB%201181&show=3&id=779

Now that I'm home and can read the packaging....it's distributed by Irond Records http://www.irond.ru/
So yes, it is totally legit.

Only the menu's need converting so I don't really care if there are any sync issues. There is one video, but I can live with it being out of sync if that's what it takes to do it an easy way vs. hard.

Someone in the know please point me in the right direction at least. I don't need spoonfeeding, just a little direction.

I just want to be able to listen to this in DD5.1!

I'm actually a long time lurker and have used many video editing programs from here. I just can't seem to find what I need in this instance.

Thanks,
Jason

114 views with no suggestions? Please somebody.
I've already used the search feature, but I've given up searching. Easy or hard, I'm listening. There has to be a solution!

Thanks

Ok so I found this other post in the newbies section which should help:

My question stands regarding the AUDIO_TS directory. Is there a special way to copy this onto the new DVD or is the DD5.1 track embedded in the Video?

Since I don't have a DVD-Audio player, I'm really only interested in the 5.1 at this point.

it may not be so easy to copy the DVD-Audio part of the disc:

as for authoring a DVD-Audio disc, these threads may help:
