Hi, I'm beginning to have this problem. I was ripping and burning just fine for almost a year now, using both DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter... for some reason though, within the past month it will rip just fine only to burn to a certain percent (not give an error) and then just stall or halt (usually at 75- 80% burned... is there some reason for this, and is there a "cure"??? Please help. I'm wasting black DVDs when i've never had to before.

Forgive me, i did find this threat with the same problem dated Aug of 2005, but there was no reply or answer...

It sounds like a hardware problem. Send the unit back for warranty repair while it is still covered.
With Plextor burners, they have a test burn feature where you unplug the IDE cable and hold down
the eject button while powering on I think, and it will load a blank dvd and do a test burn/test read,
and report any failures by blinking LEDs. Just call you hardware manufacturer and see.

You might want to try running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your burner. Maxell makes one that sells for approximately $10US...
