Hi, I hope someone can help me and my problem. I have Ripit4me, and everytime I try and use it it is telling me that my version of FixVTS is old. So I go to the web site (the one ripit4me sends you to) and down load the new version. Well I have tried everything I know (maybe not that much) to load it to or into or add fixVTS to ripit4me, but no luck. I know I am doing something wrong, but I am hoping you guys can help, thanks.

Hi!

In the "RipIt4Me" "Log/Settings" dropdown menu, have you selected "Preferences" and then set the "Paths to programs" properly to the location of your latest installed "FixVTS" download?

When you launch RipIt4Me, it will open the website and open the directory which contains the last known valid version of FixVTS.exe. Once you download and unzip the latest version, copy it to the directory which RipIt4Me opened for you, then restart the application. If it was successful you won't get the error again.

Would anyone happen to know how I can solve a small problem with Ripit4Me? When I open the app, it is set to update, so it tries to do so. However, it tells me that it can't, possibly due to a firewall restriction. I don't use Win7's firewall, but rather the Avast Antivirus program 8.0.1. I've put "Ripit4Me" in allowed connections inside Avast,to no avail. Any ideas, please?

Don't bother, none of the tools nor RI4M itself have been updated for a long while (and with the exception of PGCedit they'll never will).

No doubt it can't find the update server, which probably disappeared a long time ago. RipIt4Me and the programs it uses are no longer being updated. That doesn't mean you can't keep using it, however it can't handle some newer copy protections. If it tells you a DVD contains way more than it can physically hold (ie 50GB worth of video) then you've probably found one of those discs.
Other than that, I'm pretty sure RipIt4Me has an option to disable the update check, so you can do so and just keep using it.
