View Full Version : Cleaning Digital Camera Video Footage

My camera can make video clips as well as taking photos, and it's just a press of a button so I've been getting into the habit of using it rather than breaking out the clunky camcorder. The problem is that the video is fairly low quality. I'd like to clean them up but my attempts have proven to be not great (I have limited filter knowledge). The files are 30FPS mpeg1 at 320x240. The final destination is dvd so I'm thinking of using AssumeFPS(30000,1001) with a resize to 352x240? Unless you can help me to make it look good enough for 720x480!?!

None of these cameras will give you good video but yours is very poor. Its overly contrasty with limited dymanic range. It looks like that the noise is really not noise, but the limited dymanic range of the clip. Also the higher the mega pixtal of a camera, the poorer the low light performance will be..

give hdragc a try, along with fft3dgpu. This may help things somewhat..

It's fixable, I spent very little time on this cause I have so little time. I just threw on a "neat video" filter re sized it upward and put a comb filter on it. With the original source (unless that was the original source) I'm sure you could fix it.

I've tried playing with hdragc and fft3dfilter but to no avail - I don't really know what to tweak though! The samples I provided are straight from the camera with no playing around from me.
