Hi guys
1 - Can I set the layer break by myself when I am gonna write a DVD+-R DL? At least Nero doesn't allow me to do that.
2 - Do I have the PAUSE , when I am watching the dvd in DVD player when it reaches the layer break?
Thanks in advance

1. You can set layer break manually with PGCEdit and/or IMGBurn
2. It depends. With PGCEdit you can try a seamless layer break (it's out of specs but it's quite safe). In that case you can have a slighty pause if the dvdplayer is quite old (no pause if the dvdplayer is recent).

ok
I make my own DVDs with scenarist 3.0 and I put the layer break with the scenarist. I mean I make a PTT on the main stream, and then put the layer break on it. Now I need to know if I burn the VIDEO_TS directory via nero, does nero puts the layer break, where I put in scenarist, or nero puts another point? Or should I use another burner?

Use ImgBurn and choose that point in the LB selection window (if meets LB rules). Don't use nero for burning DL.

@Sherlock_2
Hi!when I am gonna write a DVD+-R DLTwo things are very strongly suggested:
1) Don't use DL DVD-R at all
2) Specifically, use Verbatim DL DVD+R - Thusfar, they are the only DL DVD media proven to be CONSISTENTLY reliable...

Just to elaborate on what's already been said...Nero simply continues writing layer 0 until it runs out of space and then moves onto layer 1. Aviod Nero for DL... I wouldn't trust it for single layer either but that's another matter.

I most strongly agree with setarip_old's post. If you must use DL DVD-R, don't use Nero! I don't know if they fixed it or not, but at one time Nero did not correctly set the layer break in DL DVD-R media. The problem is that the layer break can't vary in -R media like it can in +R media. It must be set to the same point in every burn. It's very poorly documented and I had to do a lot of searching on the web before I found out how to do it in ImgBurn. You have to change one of the settings in ImgBurn and manually set the layer break point. I don't think DL DVD-R is really worth the hassle and I'm not real impressed with the format. What they did to make it work is kind of kludgy and the discs are still expensive.

thanks guys.
Please answer me know my last question.
I need to know does imgburn, chooses the layer break, which I set in the scenarist?
I need to choose my layer break in scenarist.
But I don't know is it the layer break, which is should be after burn?

ImgBurn presents you with a window listing potential layer break positions before burning, and you can choose the one you want. (this applies to +R DL media)
