nero express can't burn to DVD+R DL disc

I bought some dual layer DVD discs on sale and thought I would try them out. I ripped my copy of Barry Lyndon using DVD Shrink (did not shrink it) but it did not automatically burn to the dual layer disc I used, citing some sort of error. (Fujifilm 8.5Gig 2.4X disc) but it said that the file had been recorded properly. I then tried to burn it by going into Nero Express and selecting the DVD Video option. After about a minute I got a 3 page long list of what happened ending with "#25 Phase 38 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1836 Burn process failed at 2.4X (3324KB/s)".

Can anyone tell me what this means, and what I'm doing wrong? And how I can burn this DVD.

If your disks aren't Verbatim, be very surprised if you get a successful burn, especially with Nero. Try ImgBurn instead.
