No Signal with TECHNOTREND DVB-C

HI There!

PLZ PLZ CAN SOMEONE HELP!!!

I have installed drivers from the technotrend website and the system has picked them up.
However when i use the technotrend application software the seems to be no signal coming through. I have also tried progdvb, mytheatre, avs media etc etc still no signal.
Can someone please please help as this is driving me round the bend.
Are there any particular settings that i need to input to recieve signal (uk cable)??
Also when i do try to use the technotrend software a network connection automatically pops up (microsoft tv/video connection). However no packets are being sent or recieved hence there is no valid ip address

Any help will be GREATLY, MASSIVELY HUGELY appriciated!!!!!

I didn't know there were any DVB-c cable services over there that carried unencrypted services. Which cable co are you connected with?

Im with telewest, i already am a subscriber but its far cheaper for me to view via pc than install a box in another room and have it rewired.
