Anyone got a clue as to what could be causing this? Im capturing from video game consoles using component input. I've tried searching but noone seems to have this specific problem.

I noticed it for a long time now but even when I hooked the console directly up to the card it still gives this bar. :( Its on the left side, approx 40 pixels or so. Im recording to HuffyUV, YUY2 colorspace.

I'm sorry i don't know how to prevent it (i haven't seen such a thing yet on my captures, and don't own a console), but i think you should be able to correct it with the hotspot filter (virtualdub plugin by neuron2, avisynth filter by fizik). For that you need to create a filter bitmap, but if the problem is consistent across all video captured it may be worth the work.

Btw, i hope you aware that that picture has quite a lot of large blocks all over (doesn't look like it's from JPEG)...

I'm guessing it's electrical interference...cheapo wires...try capturing with a dvd movie from a standalone and see?
