Is there a tool to remux a TS file to MKV? The codecs I'm interested in are h264 and AC3/DTS specifically.
Thanks

For Video Streams:
1°/ .ts to .mp4 with the VLC Wizard.
2°/ .mp4 to .mkv with mmg.
For Audio Streams : probably mplayer/mencoder...

For Audio Streams, try with mencoder (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=114361)

i doubt it :D
i would demux the video stream to raw .264 with mencoder and remux this .264 to .mp4 with mp4box and mp4creator

For some reason, vlc is considered by many as a piece of sh*t. Go figure.
Thansk for all the help, I'll get to work right now ;-)

I use Project X to cut out the commercials and demux my files (nice thing is it does it without transcoding), then I mux to mp4 with MP4box. If you still want to use MKV, you can just import the MP4 in theory, though I haven't tried myself because I tend to use MP4 anyway.
Come to think of it, you should just be able to take the demuxed files from Project X and throw them straight into MKVmege (for some reason I was thinking of raw H.264 when you mux to MP4 then to MKV). Actually if you do have H.264 streams in your TS you may have to use mp4box anyway
Hope you can make sense of my chopping and changing :p
