I cant get dvd2svcd to work, so I am making svcd's manually now.
A problem with my puter maybe, who knows.
I use dvd2avi, open the .d2v in tmpgenc, create a tpr project, use VFAPI to create the avi, then encode in cce.

Thing is, i have to keep the bitrate constant, and below 1800kbps to have the svcd play nicely on my jvc model 60. I use nero to create the svcd.

Is this because the way i make an svcd is bad, or cuz my standalone DVD player sucks?

Any ideas would be great!

i think it might be ur player. as some players can play really high bitrates while some can only play tiny bitrates. go to www.vcdhelp.com and check ur player on the dvd compatability list.
