As long as the codec is compliant to the mpeg-4 spec I don't think there should be. All you are going to do is change what codec does the decoding and any mpeg-4 codec can decode any encode from any other spec compliant codec.

Just don't try it on an OGM or MKV, since some software will refuse to load them with bad CRCs. (A very bad decision on vdubmod's part, imho.)
