Pioneer dvd-rw dvr 105 doesn't recognize

I recently bought new dvd-rw which cannot be read.
Never had the problem with earlier disks.
Still using original driver MS 7/1/2001. Version 5.1.2535.0.
Do I need a new driver? Where do I get it?
Could it be some other problem?

I had that problem with a couple LG drives; I updated the firmware and it fixed my problem, worth a try I guess

yeah set, sometimes firmware doesn't like some brands of dvd, I couldn't read sony disks for a while, verbatim were good, and good old generic disks were a shot in the dark
after an upgrade I could read all of them and write to them fine :)
