Issues with TomsMoComp De-interlacer..

Hi guys, I recently got into the Avisynth field thanks to a conversion to X264 encoding. I've been looking through various de-interlacers and I thought I had a winner in TomsMoComp. However I've noticed some frustrating issues with it. Im using Huffy videos and converting them into X264, but the de-interlacing is showing some nasty artifacts around non interlaced area's such as text. Heres two shots that illustrate that point. As you can see the text has artifacts as its leaving the screen and likewise the door's vent hole smudges together.

My settings are 1,5,0. Changing the last one to 1 helps a bit, but its still noticable and I dont like the blurring effect it gives. Adjusting the threshold just makes things worse..

Can anyone recommend perhaps a new De-Interlacer that might work better with my material?

It seems that no matter what I do, on the last frame before a scene change the whole frame goes to hell (view in layers on your app of choice):

Have you tried TDeint?

Oh wow, I had tried it earlier but I guess I didnt take the time to sit down and properly configure it for my source. Its much better with my videos! I appreciate the suggestion, it looks like it will fit my needs perfectly! Theres still the odds and ends but no de-interlacer is perfect but this one covers my main gripes! Thanks!
