forgot to mention, have been using dr.divx, however in my case the ac3 has not worked sadly, from what I've read it's hit or mis as to whether it works from once instal to the next.

so far avi.net is doing as I need, have tried virtualdubmod and found it somewhat time consuming, normally when I get time to mes with ripping etc I' tired and don't feel like reading and researching, I do that all day and apreciate a good simple solution when one is available.

sorry for the scrambled previous post, often my laptop causes the curser to jump around while I'm typing and if I'm not atentive I have a mess when I'm finished
