Does anyone know of any DXVA enabled mpeg-4 codecs? I've had a little success with the Nero Video Decoder. DXVA works but only in windows media player. If I render the file in graphedit I get an error. The same happens with directshow based video converters. I have an ATI card and I would really like to enable the AVIVO on mpeg-4.

The H.264 DXVA spec exists, but I don't think anyone has implemented the support yet. I believe all the existing hardware accelerated H.264 solutions out there are currently using proprietary APIs.

I don't think they've been made fully public yet. They're currently only available to MS partners that have signed non-disclosure agreements. I can send you more info over PM if you wish.

So how can I take advantage of the propagated features of an ATI X1x00 card?
from ATI website (x1600 specs):
High performance programmable video processor
Accelerated MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, WMV9, VC-1, and H.264 decoding and transcoding DXVA support De-blocking and noise reduction filtering
Motion compensation, IDCT, DCT and color space conversion
Vector adaptive per-pixel de-interlacing
3:2 pulldown (frame rate conversion)
Do I need a special software player/decoder (Cyberlink, off. DivX Player) ?
Does it always work when a video is "sent" to Overlay?
