Whenever I merge avi files that i've captured with my capture card (all using the same codec settings) using Virtual Dub or Avisynth, the sections of the video that were made from clips 2,3,4 etc are out of sync while the section compiled from clip 1 is fine. I've been trying to use other joining tools to bring these videos together without any luck. Sometimes they would even crash.

The codec I used for the vids is Huffyuv 2.5 CCSP Patch and the audio is 44100hz WAV.

Are there any reliable avi mergers other than Virtual Dub or Avisynth?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi!

If I remember correctly, in VirtualDub, if you set the audio delay (after clicking "Interleave") for ONLY the SECOND .AVI to "-1200ms" (negative 1,200 milleseconds), your problem should disappear...

Hmm... That didn't work. But I messed around with the delay and found out that the delay needs to be set at about +400ms for each video after the first one. I'm still puzzled as to why this is needed but I guess this will work for now.

Once again from memory, it's because each file has a preload of 500ms...
