With what to encode DivX 6.3 movies?

Hello all,

I used to use GordianKnot to rip - let's say Disney's DVD cartoons or anything - movies to DivX. But now the time has gone by to GKa dn it cannot be used to encode DivX 6.3 -movies.

Which leads me to my question. With what program I can use nowadays to produce Divx 6.3 material? If I rip it DVD --> HD with DVD Decrypter I can choose the movie only. But these new Sony DVD's are causing some problems, so i must use DVDFab Express and rip the whole disc to hadr drive. Now with what I continue from there. As said, GK as the answer before, but to my knowledge it cannot be used anymore.

Gordian Knot is still an excellent tool, and I believe it works with DivX 6.3 with some special handling. If you must stay with DivX for a hardware player, you don't have to use 6.3 just because it's available. If you play the encoded files on a PC, you can use XviD instead, and the latest version of that works perfectly with Gordian Knot.

The latest release of AutoGK supports DivX 6.3.

RipIt4Me uses DVD Decrypter in conjunction with other utilities to effectively rip Sony disks.

Just for the sake of being a pain in the a** :
If I rip it DVD --> HD
by HD you meant HDD right ? (HD = High Definition // HDD = Hard Disk Drive)

If a n00b comes round here, he'll be opening a topic named "I want to learn to rip DVDs to HD" ;)

In fact, AutoGK supports DivX too, but I don't have clue if it recognizes DivX 6.3 :) Just give it the .IFO file containing the main PGC and it'll be fine.

AutoGK's latest beta supposedly works with DivX 6.3, though I haven't yet tried it.

by HD you meant HDD right ?
Since DVD Decrypter doesn't rip a DVD to anything but a hard disk drive, more than likely none of the "sheep" will mistake that as High Definition.
