I'm thinking about buying a new PCI-Express GPU with a nice price
and reliable performance; saying this I mean that I'm not looking for
ridiculous cheap or monster cards of about $800 like de 7900GTX...
I have a Pentium D930, Intel 945GNT MOBO; 1GB of DDR2-667 RAM
and 200GB of SATA
Note that I have a "generic" 400W PSU.

I've heard about the GeForce6600GT with 256MB(about $200)
and the Radeon X1300 w/512 MB(about $150)
Which one of the GPU's listed above works better?

Believe of not, this guy wants to play half-life 2, doom 3 and GRAW

Definitely the 6600. The X1300 is in the very low-end category, whereas the 6600 is in the mid-range.
Even better, the 7600 is the latest mid-range from NVidia.

I read ATI X800XL is the best bang for the buck ;)

here's a website that listed multiple video card specification:

actually if looking at a 6600gt then i would be really looking at an nvidia 7600gs card or if you can afford a bit more a 7600gt.

it really depends on what you can afford.

The generic PSU could cause problems in the long term but time will tell.

The 6600 is an old model and not up to date. The 1300 is okay but not the best for gaming. A 7300 could be an option too. It is up to date and at the low end of the scale.

The 7600 would allow mid range settings on most games. 7900 would allow max for most games. As well the x1800 is good the x1900 is better.

It all comes down to moneys. Tom's hardware has some easy to read comparison if you are looking for results.

Who needs a 7900 when you can buy a 7950GX2? =p

But really, a x1300/7300 should be considered only if all you want to play is last generation games or new ones at low res/medium settings. The last new thing I played, Condemned, runs somewhat passably on medium settings with my x1400m (oc'd x1300 mostly) - but sice I usually play older games and psx/snes emus, it works great for me.

The best reason to look at a 7600 is they're cooler and quieter than 6600s (but more performance), imho, without costing much more (sometimes less). And nvidia's drivers are less... wonky than ati's.

Well, I think I'm aiming for a 7300/7600 card. I read some reviews and articles saying that Geforce "beats" Ati in almost every benchmark. The fact that they are cooler and quieter(i have heard this somewere...) is a good option.
