I have a DRM Protected WMV which i have the licence for. My Problem is that my Windows Media Player wont open for some reason, and updating does nothing, and i dont have any other players that will ask my for my license. All i have is RealPlayer, VLC Player, and Cyberlink powereDVD. VLC just tries to play the DRM without asking for a license... i just need to know if there is another player i can use. Thanks

Have you tried starting and using good ol' reliable Windows Media Player v.6.4?

Desktop>>Start>>Run Type mplayer2.exe

Uninstall WMP and then install it again (providing that you can get the license again).

For some odd reason when i opened the file it would let me type in my DRM UN and PW, and it said "Licence Acquired, Please Reopen your file to play" and when i reopened it, it would go to that same screen over and over.

I cannot seem to figure out how to uninstall WMP, all i know of is Rollback, and i had already updated all the way to WMP 11 so that did not work. If anyone knows how to help me get back to windows media player 9 i would greatly appreciate it.

LOL, i payed 14 dollars for this file and i can even get it to work... sad

Have you tried performing a "System Restore" back to the last time things were working properly?

I just did that, and now Windows media player say's

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. This can occur when another program or operating system component encounters a problem but does not communicate the nature of the problem to the Player."

Ugh! the file expires tommorrow and i cant even watch it!!!

Have you now (after the "System Restore") tried a complete shutdown and cold boot?

try it on someone else's PC?
that is if its a safe file to do that

You uninstall it in Control Panel/Add remove programs/Add remove Windows components.
