i've recently been encoding my avi movie files to mpeg2. I've had success with most of them except these 2 files that won't load into the encoder. When i checked the files on gspot, they were regular avi files unlike my other opendml avi. But the 4cc code is still xvid like the rest, except it is all capitalized XVID (not sure if that means anything). I've downloaded both the k-lite and the ace codec packs and still nothing. I was wondering if there was some other version out there of xivd.

1) There are no versions of XviD that aren't compatible with each other.
2) Be it XviD, ffmpeg MPEG-4, DivX4/5/6 or ND MPEG-4, they are all MPEG-4 codecs and (should be) compatible.
3) Codec packs are evil.
4) Why don't you backup your DVDs to DVD instead of doing it the complicated way? Just to make sure that you remember what kind of forum we are on, please read the forum rules carefully, especially rule #6. Just in case.
