Hi,

When I open an avi file compressed with x264, I get the following two messages:

1. "Data Execution Prevention - To help protect your computer, Windows has closed the program";

2. "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Then I press, "Don't Send", Explorer closes and I continue with Media Player. Also, It happens only with this codec.

What can I do to stop getting those messages?

Thanks,
Gadi

your decoder just crashes.
get a recent version of FFDShow and let it decode h.264.

Hi,

Since I did those changes you told me to do, I haven't been able to convert to x264 in Virtual Dub, either Burn DVDs with NeroVision Express.

VDub tells me, "An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'x264vfw'...
...reading address 01983000...
...while passing start message to video compressor (VideoSequenceCompressor.cpp:286)."

Thanks,
Gadi

x264vfw isnt updated anymore, you might want to try normal x264 (eg in megui)

What do you mean by "normal x264"? You want me not to let FFDShow decode it? However, I've already tried it, and it didn't help. If it did, I would be getting again messages.

normal x264 is for example x264cli useable with megui

So, you mean I need to work from now on with MeGUI and leave VirtualDub?

And what with NeroVision Express? I still can't convert with it x264 to DVD.
